Spektr Group was pleased to welcome a group of students pursuing studies in the oil and gas field to our operational facility for a practical and educational workshop visit.
The purpose of the visit was to provide the students with direct exposure to industrial equipment, testing procedures, and workshop operations commonly applied within the energy sector.
During the technical session, the students were introduced to the Blowout Preventer (BOP) and gained a clear understanding of its purpose, operating principles, and critical role in maintaining well control and operational safety.
Under the supervision of our experienced specialists, the students observed and participated in the complete BOP installation and testing process, including:
∙ BOP component familiarization
∙ Installation and connection procedures
∙ Pre-test inspection and preparation
∙ Functional testing of the assembled BOP
∙ Verification of equipment performance and operational readiness
The students were also introduced to several additional workshop services and testing activities, including:
∙ Nitrogen pump testing procedures
∙ Vacuum testing and the associated international certification process
∙ Inspection and preparation of testing equipment
∙ Safety requirements applied during pressure and functional testing
As part of the visit, our specialists demonstrated the complete industrial hose manufacturing process — from the initial preparation of materials through to final testing.
The students observed each major stage, including:
∙ Hose measurement and cutting
∙ Selection and preparation of suitable fittings
∙ Hose and fitting assembly
∙ Crimping and secure compression of the connection
∙ Final inspection and pressure testing of the completed hose assembly
This practical visit allowed the students to connect their academic knowledge with real industrial applications and gain a better understanding of the technical standards, safety requirements, and quality controls applied in oil and gas operations.
