Job Description: Spektr Group was invited to site for assembly and tightening complex flanges using hydraulic Torque kit. Full kit comprising of various size hydraulic torque wrenches and 2 x torque pumps were maintained and calibrated in-house which was verified by Client. Project required torqueing procedure was followed for tightening bolted joints with the following handover to leak test team. Leak test was successful with no requirements for re- tightening.

Torque Tightening Precautions: In a move to drive further reductions in the number of accidental hydrocarbon releases in our industry only professional and accredited companies with trained and competent personal shall carry out torqueing and tensioning of bolted joints. Investigations show that incorrect tightening, incompetent personnel and lack of supervision are the main reasons of leakages from flanges.
